DreamSkin® Technology

Our DreamSkin® coating prompts damaged skin to start managing moisture, releasing moisture (sweating) when we are too hot and retaining moisture when we are too cold.

Paraffin Ointments

Paraffin based ointments are designed to form a barrier over the skin to retain moisture but don't allow the skin to release moisture (sweat) which can aggravate damaged skin even more.

The effectiveness of DreamSkin Health garments at protecting the skin from external irritant damage

Summary

DreamSkin treated fabrics offer protection from external imitants. After 24 hours of artificial skin Inflammation, skin covered with a DreamSkin health fabric showed over 40 % greater cells alive when compared to untreated fabric.

Methodology

The skin protection test of DreamSkin" textiles has been carried out utilising JIS L1918-Japanese Industrial Standard approved test for primary imitation tests

Artificial son pieces were covered with either DreamSkin treated test fabrics or untreated fabrics

Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate-a known imitant-was then dropped onto the test fabric and left to cure at 37 degrees centigrade for 24 hours Following removal of the test fabric, the artificial skin was then stained and analysed for live vs dead cells

Statistical Analysis

Endpoint: the percentage of cells alive at 24 hours after being dropped with SDS.

Summary

The results of an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) model shows that treatment has a significant impact on the fit of the model.

The individual pairwise comparisons demonstrate that both types of DreamSkin® yield a significantly higher percentage of cells alive than the untreated fabric.

Improvement for DreamSkin® 2 compared to an untreated fabric is in the order of 40% (95% CI: 31-49) more cells alive after 24 hours.

Summary

The data shows a relative moisture recovery rate for DreamSkin" as 3 times that of untreated fabric and 1.6 times that of squalane treated fabric

Test Methodology

Recovery of Trans-Epidermal water loss (TEWL) measures the rate that skin recovers water lost

through irritation or skin complaints The methodology is presented clearly below, and was carried out on a test group of 15 volunteers 5 in each test group.

Results

Summary

The curve shows the pattern in each group, and includes a numerical summary of the AUC from which analysis is calculated.

The results of an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) model shows that the DreamSkin treatment has a significant impact on the rate TEWL recovery rate.

The three individual comparisons show that each pair of treatments is significantly different, with DreamSkin giving a significantly higher cumulative recovery over the 4 days in comparison to either of the other groups.

In this sample, the data shows a relative recovery rate for DreamSkin" as 3 times that of untreated fabric and 1.6 times that of squatane treated fabric.

Summary

The curve shows the pattern of WCKL recovery in each group, and includes a numerical summary of the AUC upon which the analysis is performed.

The comparison of the two groups shows a significant difference between the treatments, with DreamSkin giving a significantly higher cumulative recovery over the 4 days in comparison to the squalane treated fabric

The data suggests a recovery rate for DreamSkin of approximately 3.3 times that of the squalane treated fabric.

This test was repeated on five samples for each treatment. (20 total) Cell Alive count was set as 100% for skin pieces which are not treated but follow the dyeing and extraction process. This sets a relative 100% as a baseline comparison and removes the analysis variable.
